In the early years of my development as a photographer a mentor once said to me, "If it's not fun, don't do it". Since being bestowed with these words of wisdom, I have found myself reaching for this work ethic as a means of finding humor within my obsessive pursuit of the perfect shot. The goal of my photography is to gingerly tease out the things that instinctively concern people but have often been pushed aside as insignificant. And it is in this subtle comedic registration of grievances that I believe lies the engaging photograph.
